Friday Favourites: Books to re-read

“If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all.”

― Oscar Wilde

My man Oscar knew the score! 😀

I love rereading and every year I have about 30 or so rereads. When I’m in a reading slump I reread, when I’m sad I reread, when I’m unwell I reread, when the day ends in ‘y’ I reread!! You get the idea!

I have many favourites so I won’t list them all but some recent ones are:

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling – this is getting embarrassing! Seriously (or Sirus-ly) I think this series is going to be in every post).

Dracula by Bram Stoker – where my vampire obsession begun. And since I got engaged at Bran Castle and only went there because of this book I’ll be rereading this book yearly! 😀

The Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh – with my discovery of ebooks almost 10 years ago came a whole new world of fantasy. This series was the first one I discovered and rereading them is like a hug for me.

Kristen Ashley books – the indie author queen and my go to books when the world gets a bit too much. I am not a crazy fan of contemporary in general and her alpha males would be dead at my hand were one to be in my life but I love her run on sentences and her love of interiors and clothes. I can lose hours to KA and afterwards I always feel I can handle the world again and THAT is why I read. In fact my love of KA is so great that I’m going to Paris in April so I can meet her. Well meet her and spend 4 days in Paris! 😀

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman – Terry Pratchett in general actually because laughing cures everything.

The Illuminae Files by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman – these are books designed to be read over and over. The format is amazing and no matter how many times I read them I’m still surprised by the choices made by a certain psychotic AI. I’m even more surprised that I find myself agreeing with him more and more.
