Italy – Day 2

Me thinking I was going to be able to blog each day of my holiday is one of my more naive moments. You always think that you’ll have loads of time to do stuff like this while you are relaxing on the beach or sitting on a ferry but turns out once you switch off you really have no desire to switch back on until you really have to. So my travel diary is coming at you a week late.

Day two and I tried to kill us! Well at least that’s what I’ve been accused of. When I’m on holiday I like to pack as much into the first half as possible and kick back and relax for the second. This usually means we are exhausted by the second half but I’m finding it hard to break the cycle. Our second day was no exception. We walked from Minori to Ravello and it’s a beautiful walk and the views make the hard work worth it but it’s over 105 flights of stairs (according to the Fitbit) and you also have to be prepared to walk down that 105 flights. That’s the killer. My shins were very sore after and my hips weren’t thanking me either.

Ravello is stunning and if you ever find yourself in this part of the world you should absolutely visit it.

After our decent the only thing we were fit for was Spritz by the hotel pool and a gorgeous meal in Ristorante Trattoria Pizzeria La Locanda Del Pescatore.

This was followed by a gelato from Pasticceria Sal De Riso and a stroll around Minori. The gelato was wonderful but Pasticceria Sal De Riso is probably the only place we went while on this trip where the staff were really unhelpful. It was jam packed and they were under pressure but I couldn’t bring myself to go back. I found equally as good gelato though so it was no loss. All in all it was a fabulous day and worth the muscle pain the following day.
